What is Coaching?
From
an individual's perspective, coaching offers an objective, independent look into what you want and others want from
you, what you do and how you do it, then identifies ways to remove barriers between you and achievement, enabling you
to progress happily towards your goals.
From the coach's perspective, coaching is an intuitive yet structured
process of asking great questions, careful listening at many levels, then using a series of supporting, exploring, suggesting
and confronting interventions to contribute to the individual's success.
From the organisation's perspective,
coaching is an enabling process of individual development that translates positively to wider situations through the
coachee's renewed sense of perspective, adaptability and motivation. It can also be seen as part of cultural development,
engagement and leadership of an organisation.

Core Principles in the way that we work:
Positive: We
build on the good stuff: what works within, on individual and team strengths. We take an appreciative stance, we work with
what we find.
Systemic:
When working with a
person, team or group, we pay a great deal of attention to the context, and often bring different parts together to interact
in a new way.
Coactive: We cannot change things directly; we must work in a way that catalyses change and development in others.
Holistic: We look at many different aspects
in order to achieve the goal, and so resolve inherent conflicts within through self awareness and helping the ‘whole’
to find better ways.
Adaptable: We can
work in many different ways to approach any issue, and thus may be able to help in ‘stuck’ situations.
Constructionist: We understand that people are designed to
do “meaning-making”. As such, we create our own world and are therefore powerful to create change too.
Time: We effectively balance organisation’s need
for swift progress with the human need for time in development, and have distinctive ways to help new knowledge emerge.
Verifiable: We seek to learn more about what works for individuals, teams and groups:
this means that we evaluate and change dynamically and so can show the results of our work.
Embedded: We seek to create changes that have long-lasting positive effects,
so our solutions include follow-up to ensure that barriers to application can be effectively overcome.
In designing development,
we draw together local needs and whole business context to fully understand priorities. We then design something for
your people that meets your needs as efficiently as possible, balancing long and short term gains.
